Sarah K.
Private tutor in Bryan, TX
Education
Sophomore Education and English major at Texas A&M-College Station
Experience
As a senior in high school, I assisted an eighth grade science teacher with after-school tutorials on a regular weekly basis, and helped many of my classmates with their English work in preparation for various standardized tests as well as class work. I am currently taking two Literature courses at Texas A&M University, one based on American literature from civil war to present, and the other is a general literature overview course. Last semester I took an English Literature survey course, and the semester before that, a writing rhetoric class. I graduated high school ranking third in my class in 2007, and while in high school scored extremely high on English and writing portions of standardized tests. I want to be a tutor because I have been helped by tutors before in my problem-areas such as math before, and I know that it can sometimes make all the difference in someones grades and overall attitude toward a course. Also, in the future, I plan on becoming a high school English teacher, and I know that tutoring in English and writing now, will help my teach abilities in the future. My strengths are in grammar, composition, literary interpretation, rhetoric, and organization.
